The Calculus Club of Grandview Park Baptist School, or , is off to a great start in its third year. The record-setting six members (Clinton Ellis - Director of Foreign Affairs, Erik Nilius - Brute Squad, Krisanna Root - Diplomat, Daniel Sternquist - Ambassador/Director of Communications, Aric Warner - Health Inspector, Evan Westbrook - CIA, plus auxiliary member Daniel Schwab - Alias Unknown), believe there is no limit to what they will experience and accomplish this year. Each member of the Calculus Club plays an integral part in the day-to-day operations of the organization, having a ± huge impact on the advancement of math at our school. Some of the benefits derived from being in Calculus include breakfast, snacks, "thinking hats", t-shirts that no one outside the club understands, dry math jokes, Mrs. Capon's little life lessons, eliteness, and, of course, lots of learning. Throughout the year, the Calculus Club participates in activities to enrich those around them. This year the Calculus Club will continue the tradition of providing a breakfast to other students involved in the National Math Exam. They also plan to sponsor the biggest and the best Math Fair to date, with the guaranteed return of "Stump the Schwab". This club also has the ambition to resurrect the annual field trip to Williamsburg to review for the AP Exam with students from Mrs. Capon's former high school.
